FlexiMet Radio Link Tower Crane System

Product code: WSWFRLDA

£ POA

This system offers live weather monitoring across multiple locations with local displays in the crane cab and site office. The radio link approach was developed to allow weather data to be sent over long distances when no GSM cellular network connection is available at the sensor location or when long cable runs are not suitable.

Data is jointly transferred from sensor to the site office using a 2.4GHz Radio modem link with a range up to 2 miles* as well as a direct RS232/485 cable connection from sensor to the programmable WS-15A LCD display in the crane cab.

Richard Paul Russell Ltd configure the product to each customers specification ensuring it meets all requirements, please call our technical team on +44 (0) 1590 641223 or email sales@r-p-r.co.uk

FlexiMet Radio Link Tower Crane System Description

The FlexiMet Radio Link Tower Crane System connects the sensor jointly as follows:
• A 2.4GHz radio modem link pair transfers data from the sensor to the site office up to 2 miles* away where it can be viewed via the WS-15A display.
• RS232 or RS485 cable transfers data from the sensor to the WS-15A display within the crane cab.

Both local programmable WS-15A displays can operate either an audible, visual or dual alarm when user defined parameters have been met. The wind speed alarm is configurable as either a high or a low alarm and to avoid false alarm events, there are adjustable hold off and hold on times. The 40 character easy to read display shows wind speed in a choice of measurement units and wind direction in degrees, as a wind arrow and as cardinal points.

A WeatherFile Communication Unit (WCU) connected to the site office WS-15A display, logs the weather data and transfers it using either a LAN (local area network), local Wi-Fi network or a GSM cellular network to the internet where it can be viewed using the WeatherFile.com website over the public internet or locally on a PC.

All key elements of the system are housed in IP rated enclosures for outdoor use and suitable for the harsh construction site environment. The system delivers wind measurements to the appropriate industry standards including IEC-61400 as well as a full list of other weather parameters if required.

Options include:

• Local WS-15A display and audible alarm sited in crane cab
• Radio link to site office (line of sight) within 2 miles*
• Local WS-15A display and data logger located in site office
• Optional connection to WeatherFile.com enabling 24/7 view of data from any location with any internet connected device, cost free

*The radio link allows data to be sent up to an absolute maximum of 2 miles with a clear line of sight. But the proximity of buildings and other geographical limitations need to be considered.
