This is a popular example of one of our internet connected weather stations. It provides reliable wind speed and wind direction readings accessible at WeatherFile.com by any internet connected pc/tablet/smartphone. We can also supply systems using other sensors giving a wide range of options. Please contact us for more details.
The system uses the WindSonic solid-state ultrasonic anemometer providing many advantages over conventional cup anemometers and vane sensors. Having no moving parts that can jam, break or wear out it is the sensor of choice for reliable wind speed and wind direction readings.
At the heart of the system is the WeatherFile Communications Unit (WCU) which processes the signals from the sensor and sends the wind data to the WeatherFile.com database. The WCU contains a data logger and if at any time the internet connection is lost, the WCU will continue to log data which will be retransmitted when communications are restored ensuring continuous data capture in a 'fit & forget' solution. In this particular system the mobile phone 4G network is used to connect to the internet. Included in the price is an EE or Three UK network SIM with a three-year contract. If you are outside the UK please contact us.
With your own site on WeatherFile.com you can you can download historical data and setup email notifications of high wind speeds or the system going offline.
