Today, Wind and Weather, Live from Lands End.     Well to be more precise, NCI Gwennap Head, located high (Station Elevation: 230′) on the far south west of Cornwall between Land`s End and Porthcurno, today, went live on RPR Ltd’s site.

The  National Coastwatch Institution (NCI)  is an entirely voluntary organisation keeping a visual watch along UK shores. Currently 50 NCI stations are operational and manned by over 2000 volunteers. Each station assists in the protection and preservation of life at sea and around the UK coastline.

The volunteer Watchkeepers provide a vital link with all the emergency services and can provide an emergency contact point on land for both sea and shore users.

NCI Gwennap Head is a recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. For an interesting snapshot of their good work, take a look at the ‘latest incidents & news’ report: Gwennap Head latest shows Live Wind and Weather Data from many weather feeds located around the UK and Worldwide. Many companies and organisations require live data from  RPR Wind & Weather Systems , easily accessed on via internet connected Phones, Tablets, Laptops and PC’s.  Where security dictates, the weather feeds of those needing to restrict sharing of the data are not shown on the public site and so secure login is required.
